How it’s done:
a Breif Overview
Surface Prep & Seal
The flooring substrate needs to be exposed.
We begin by sanding the wood or Diamond Grinding or Acid Etching the bare concrete.
Then we clean the surface with the appropriate detergent solutions.
The Concrete needs to dry out completely before anything else happens.
This process is done to remove deep stains, oils, and any other previous floor coatings,
Critical step to ensure a proper mechanical bond between layers.
After, the surface is dry, will apply joint compound that will hardened & seal all cracks & seams.
The Joint compound with be leveled flush with the diamond grinder or floor sander. We will clean and remove all dust & debris.
The surface will be ready for material application.
Color Design and Base Pour
This is where the fun begins! Now we start to mix our polyaspartic products and colors according to the manufacture recommendations.
A Deep black or white base is usually poured first for most designs to act as a contrasted background. This adds depth to the overall piece. However, with your artistic input anything is possible.
The base coat is poured evenly, squeegeed, plus foam rolled, & trowled if necessary to ensure a level & bubble free coat.
This layer needs to cure for a period of time (Until very sticky and malleable but closer to a solid form) to prevent color bleed from the next layers into the base layer.
Layers are applied upon each other in a general sense of, “Wet on Sticky”
We never let a layer cure for longer than 24 hours. After 24 hrs of curing there is more sanding involved.
Colors & sheens
Main Pour and Seal Pour
Clients up to 4 colors not including your Base Color & the chosen design.
We then, cohesively and artistically apply the next 1-2 layers in an elegant pattern highlighting color depth and vibrancy within every square inch of the surface.
New Pours always done “Wet” on previous layer while “sticky”.
Once the design has been established. We ensure all bubbles have been released & the consolidated pours are leveled evenly.
After the final design layer has been applied. We will allow this layer to cure about 24 - 36 hours depending on project size.
Sanding is an important step now. Sometimes pigments can collect in certain spots of the material and cause “lumps” the overall flooring system will be smooth but these lumps can cause slight unevenness. Sanding with a high grit pad is the trick!
The next layer applied is a Flood Coat layer, to lock in the remarkable design.
This layer is applied “wet” directly on top of the previously sanded layer.
This Flood Coat will fill all unexpected creases or any pinholes from any bubbles that may have released during the 24-36 cure period.
It is critical that in this stage there is no airborne particles or debris present in the space.
After the Flood Coat layer has been applied. We will allow this layer to cure a period of time depending on project size.
After Curing, the Seal Coat is applied “wet” to the previous cured surface.
The Seal Coat will protect the surface from:
Scratching
Chipping
Yellowing
Slipping
Warping
Staining

What are Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s):
VOC’s are a group of chemicals that easily turn into gas at room temperature and will release the converted molecules into the air. These tiny and almost invisible particles may evaporate from solids to liquids and are considered organic due to their carbon content along with other organic elements.

Foot traffic after 24-36 hours after Seal Coat is suitable. However, parking a vehicle risks high heat vulnerability too soon.
We would recommend waiting an entire 48-72 Hours before attempting to park a vehicle on a newly installed polyaspartic flooring system.
